About Me

While my original background is in the fine arts, I found myself drawn to design because it allowed me to do something I could not quite do fully with fine art: problem solve. I enjoy hands on problem solving, because to me, being able to turn an idea or innovative concept into something that is function, relevant, and inviting to the user is something I find extremely gratifying. Even if it’s something as simple as how to organize mail. I like to think that what I create can help make someone’s day just a little bit better.

In my free time, I enjoy being able to bring creations to life, especially ones I can hold. This draws me to 3 dimensional hobbies, like baking, gardening, and sculpture. But I find clay allows me no limitations. Each one of my ceramic creations is a little bit of life I give to some clay, capturing a snapshot of a moment.

I have a diverse background, not just in the fine arts but also in research, sociology, and data analysis. I’ve been a manager, and educator, and creator. I have formally trained and been educated all around the world among multicultural teams, from Sweden, to Italy, to China, allowing me to experience a truly big breadth of our round planet.
